Wyoming Republicans: Hope for Liberty
The United States of America has taught the rest of the world, by example, about liberty - the assumption that all humans are created equal, that the purpose of government is to protect the liberty of each person, and the superiority of a free people governed by laws that respect basic natural rights.
These hallmarks of a free people are slowly being eroded away by our own government. The very foundation of our Constitution is to provide a federal government of limited and defined powers, with all other powers reserved to the states and to individuals. But our Constitution is only as good as the citizens who administer it. In recent years, the caretakers of our Constitution have treated it as just another historical artifact of no particular importance, to be ignored or adhered to based on nothing more than the whim of those in power.
Citizens of Wyoming are a small population of rugged individuals who respect the liberty and rights of others; we are a unique people with a long history of respect for the equality of all; and we are people who stop at any time to help a neighbor in need. We are old-fashioned Americans, not beholden to government welfare, but instead we shoulder the responsibility for ourselves, our families and our neighbors, without government interference or handouts.
As members of the Wyoming Republican Liberty Caucus, we choose the path towards life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, we gather together to support like-minded Republicans, and we oppose politicians and laws that obstruct our natural rights.
